We combine consulting expertise with veterinary knowledge to deliver insights that actually move the needle for independent practices.
VetSim Co. was born from an unlikely but powerful collaboration between veterinary medicine and engineering.
After long and demanding days in the clinic, Dr. Luisanny Perez would often come home reflecting on the challenges faced in daily practice—overbooked schedules, workflow bottlenecks, staff burnout, and the constant pressure to provide excellent care while keeping the clinic running efficiently. These conversations sparked discussions with Johann Ortiz-Franco, a mechanical engineer whose professional focus was improving manufacturing systems by identifying inefficiencies and optimizing workflows.
As they compared experiences, one realization kept surfacing: a busy veterinary clinic isn’t all that different from a manufacturing floor. Both are complex systems made up of people, processes, and resources that must work together seamlessly. In manufacturing, decisions are rarely made based on intuition alone—they are guided by data, performance metrics, and continuous improvement systems. Veterinary medicine, however, often doesn’t have access to those same analytical tools.
VetSim Co. was created in response to that gap.
Our company exists to help veterinary practices unlock the power of the data they already have. Too often, operational decisions are made based on gut feelings or long-standing habits rather than measurable insights. By combining veterinary experience with systems engineering and data analytics, we help clinics identify inefficiencies, improve workflows, and make informed decisions that benefit the entire practice.
Our goal is simple: to empower clinics to run smoother, more efficient operations so that everyone benefits—the veterinary teams, the practice managers, the clients, and most importantly, the patients in their care.
Every recommendation we make is grounded in your practice's actual numbers — not industry averages or gut feel.
A profitable practice invests in better equipment, retains top talent, and ultimately delivers better patient outcomes.
We're not here to hand you a report and walk away. We work alongside your team to implement changes that stick.

Johann brings an engineer's precision to veterinary practice performance. With a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and an M.S. in Computer Science, he spent his career in manufacturing — optimizing facilities, streamlining processes, and turning raw data into operational improvements. At VetSim, he applies that same analytical discipline to independent veterinary practices, uncovering the financial and operational insights that drive real, measurable growth.

Luisanny is a practicing veterinarian who has worked across both corporate veterinary networks and small independent practices. That dual perspective gave her a front-row seat to the gap between the two — where corporate settings benefit from standardized workflows and structured operations, independent practices often struggle with inconsistent scheduling, documentation bottlenecks, and ad hoc processes. At VetSim, she brings clinical credibility and firsthand operational insight, ensuring every recommendation is grounded in the reality of how veterinary teams actually work.

The real reason VetSim exists. Tux is the calm, confident one — a distinguished connoisseur of carrots, belly rubs, and car rides who'll guide you to the fridge when he's hungry and to the car when he's ready for his next adventure. Espi is pure energy in a fur coat — part inspector, part comedian, with a nose that misses nothing and a howl that demands the whole family join in. Together, they remind us that behind every practice visit is a pet with this much life in them.
